So you want to help recruit members...

I’ve been recently asked, and routinely asked, can I help recruit members to the guild?

The short answer is: Yes.

Every one of Ministry of Defense’s members in good standing can recruit a new member by issuing a new member invite in the guild communities window. However, please do not spam out unwanted, or unrequested, guild invites to people. We prefer for potential new members to seek us out, rather than the reverse.

Also, in your recruiting travels, please do not make promises that we might not be able to keep. For example, telling a potential new member that they would be guaranteed a position on a raid team… that decision is always up to the warlords for each team.

If you are so inclined, and want to help recruit new people into the guild, feel free to utilize the following recruitment message… or make your own!

<Ministry of Defense> is looking for casual players, raiders, and pvpers! We offer an adult friendly, non-toxic guild atmosphere. Currently celebrating 9 years of being awesome! Website: ministryofdefense.net. Currently 1/9M, 7/9H, 9/9N BoD.

Have any questions, please use our Discord #general channels for comments!

Happy Guild Birthday!

The guild’s 9th Birthday is tomorrow! Make sure, as usual, you check the #giveaway channel in Discord for those ever present raffles.

This will be a short and sweet post!

However, I did want to thank everyone, past members, and present members, for making the guild a continued success!

New Warbringer position open for recruitment

Hi everyone. As you probably heard, we are looking to round out our PVP leadership team by bringing in another Warbringer to host Wednesday’s rated battlegrounds.

If you have any interest (don’t be shy!), please contact Lunzzul. The Wednesday night event will be yours to run and manage and you will be a true asset to the PVP leadership team, as well as being one of the guild’s officers. Again, please speak to Lunzzul if you have interest in running this night!

Raiding Info for Battle of Dazar'alor

We will be having a raider’s interest meeting and meeting to discuss the next raid tier, Battle of Dazar’alor, this Thursday, December 20th at 4pm server (7pm est). It will be held in place of our normal mythic run. Please try to attend if you are looking to continue raiding with us, or are looking to start raiding with us. The meeting will take place in the raiding Discord voice channel.

You're looking for what?!?

So, let’s say you’re looking for a guild promotion and/or want to get noticed. With a guild the size we currently are, it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd. What can you do? Well, for example, at 6pm EST tonight we have a resources farming event. Sign up! Get involved! Put yourself on the map! Also, having a character in the guild that is max level (120) is a huge plus.

As everyone knows by now, we raid… and we raid three times a week. That is definitely a fast track to get a promotion within the guild. All you need to do is attend 5 of our raids. And wham-o! You’ve got Vanguard status. The same policy exists for our PVP section, which usually holds events at 8pm server on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Attend those events, and you’ll be boosted to Gladiator rank. Keep your attendance up, and you’ll remain at your respective rank. In short, attending events and actively participating in them will get you to a status higher than member.

Don’t like to raid or PVP? We run several events throughout the week you can be apart of. Saturday’s at 5pm EST we usually run a guild LFR run. Sure it’s ‘raiding,’ but it is a much more relaxed atmosphere then a normal/heroic or mythic raid. Later that evening, we have a mythic dungeon key event at 7:30pm EST. Jump in!

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Sunday Funday at 6pm EST on Sundays. The rotation of what we do is constantly changing on that day, so check the calendar! Also, we have a non-raiding/non-PVP promotion status called Champion. It is a specific status to recognize guild members that don’t fit the traditional raiding or pvping criteria that attend our other events.

Just don’t find yourself promoted to PITA. Nobody wants that!

Reminder about BOE farming and Thanks!

Thank you everyone who has contributed to the guild bank repair fund by either donating raid BOEs, gold, or items for me to sell on the auction house. More guild bank repair funds means more guild bank repair allocations for everyone, and I hope to increase the repairs again soon. All the guild bank money goes solely to fund guild bank repairs. It is not used for any other purpose.

Just a reminder, we do have a mythic Uldir BOE farming event tonight at 6pm EST. Please try to be available to attend. You do not have to be a mythic raider to participate. The purpose of this event is to collect Uldir mythic BOE drops for sale on the auction house to fund more guild repair allocations.

Guild Ranking System Changes

There are a couple of new guild ranks. Warlord will remain for our Raid Leaders, but a new rank, Warbringer, will be for the PVP Leaders. The Guild Praetor position was condensed with the current officer rank, Legati. All the other guild ranks are unaffected.

If you raid, or want to raid, speak to a Warlord.

If you PVP, or want to PVP, consult a Warbringer.

Do not forget about the guild’s Hallow’s End Transmog Contest currently underway at: http://ministryofdefense.net/halloween

Congrats on the Raiding Success!

Congrats guys and gals on last nights raiding successes in Uldir! We are currently 1/8M, 8/8H, 8/8N, 8/8 LFR 🙂 ! If you were asked to sit last night, please make sure to watch the videos, read about the encounters, learn the fights, and how the role you play applies to the encounters.

Special thanks to Quetzie for raffling off an in-game store mount for last nights participants. You rock!
